Suicide Cleanup in Las Vegas, Handled Quietly
You don't have to clean that room, or be there while it's done. Tell us what you'd like kept, and a crew does the rest.
If you're thinking about suicide, or this feels like too much
The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline picks up at any hour. Call or text 988. For Spanish, press 2 on the call or text AYUDA to 988. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
We're sorry you have a reason to be reading this.
Las Vegas Bio Clean arranges suicide cleanup across Clark County, in a house, an apartment, a garage or a car. Whatever can't be made safe goes out, the area is disinfected, and any odor gets treated. You can call us as a relative, a roommate or a landlord, as soon as police and the coroner's office are done.
Nobody needs a decision from you today. If you'd like, the first call can be nothing more than an address and a good time to talk again.
You decide how much you're part of this
Stay away, or be close by
Some people want to be at a relative's house until it's over. Others want to wait in the kitchen. Either is fine, and someone with authority over the property can approve the work by phone.
Keep what matters
Name the photo on the dresser, the watch, the letters or the Bible, and the crew will look for them and say honestly whether each can be cleaned. Nothing personal has to be thrown out without you hearing about it first.
A quiet arrival
Ask for no signage on the vehicle, for an hour when the neighbors are at work, and for a parking spot away from the front door.
Someone else can make the calls
A brother, a friend or a pastor can talk to us and read the scope for you. Tell us who it is and we'll deal with that person.
Blood often travels past what you can see
What happened can reach further than you'd see from the door: into a mattress, under a baseboard, onto a ceiling or the back of a chair. The walk-through checks all of it, so you don't have to.
Please don't try cleaning it first. Close the door and make sure children and pets stay out. That's all you need to do.
Porous things usually can't be saved: the mattress, the carpet and its pad, an upholstered chair. Hard surfaces can. When the crew leaves, the room is clean and disinfected, and the waste has gone out as medical waste. If you want it repainted or carpeted before anyone sees it again, ask on the walk-through.
A rental, a garage or a car adds a few questions
In a rental, the landlord or manager has to agree to any floor or wall work, and who has the say over belongings can depend on the estate, so settle that before anything leaves. If you're the landlord, the property manager page covers what Nevada law says about disclosure afterward.
A garage floor is often bare concrete, which can take a stain deep at a crack. A vehicle has seat foam and an air system to deal with, covered on the vehicle page.
Insurance depends on the policy
A homeowners policy may be worth asking about, and it depends on the wording. A claim will want the written scope, photos and the disposal records, which you can ask the crew to provide. The Nevada guide to paying for cleanup has more, and the cost guide covers what moves the number.
Support for people who lost someone to suicide
The room is the smaller part of this. These groups offer support from others who've lost someone.
Surviving Suicide Loss, Las Vegas and Southern Nevada
The peer group the Nevada Coalition for Suicide Prevention points Southern Nevada survivors to. The Coalition's survivor support page has the details.

A short call is enough to start
On the visit, a crew looks at the room without you and sends you what it found, along with the price, to read when you're ready.
